Abstract

Based on a study funded by Universidad de la Sabana, this article describes the information quality and consumption of internet newspapers in Colombia. Applying the theories of the diffusion of innovations (Rogers, 1995) and usability and gratification (Katz, 1959) we found that, even though 64.6% of Colombian online news consumers say that they prefer media that allows them to personalize the way they search for information, the importance of a set of elements related to interactivity and personalization are not clearly perceived by those readers.
