Journalism cannot find satisfactory solutions to the problems it poses within itself. As happens with many other Social Sciences, the synthesis of knowledge is urgent. In recent years, the surge in double degrees in university education, including those for future journalists, shows to what extent two disciplines that blend well are Journalism and Philosophy. Here, we propose a symbiosis and mutual benefit between both. Specifically, one that concerns the journalistic representation of immigration, studied in recent years -especially due to the emergence of the migratory phenomenon in Europe and the so-called migrant crisis- from perspectives such as content analysis, critical analysis, professional aspirations, or the establishment of ethical and deontological guidelines and recommendations, among others. We approach these latter aspects from a novel perspective, drawing from Emmanuel Levinas' philosophy, particularly what we could call his "humanism of the face," aiming to review existing journalistic frameworks of understanding the migratory phenomenon and propose new frameworks that enhance the quality of information in this field.
