Studies have shown that the way environmental issues are communicated and the focus on sustainability influence how
people respond to these commitments. Therefore, communication can facilitate significant transformations towards a
greater commitment to sustainability by fostering dialogue and participation in the construction of solutions. This article
analyzes the comments on posts from the Instagram account CNNClimate, related to the environment and the climate crisis.
Messages posted from January to December 2022 are studied, identifying those posts that generate expressions of greater
polarity and subjectivity. For this purpose, a quantitative methodology based on natural language processing (NLP) is
employed to determine levels of polarity and subjectivity in the texts commented on by the account's followers. The results
help identify how the messages are being perceived and what types of emotional reactions they generate. The information
presented can help communication media, pro-environmental organizations, public organizations and other stakeholders
identify key aspects in creating messages that achieve greater interest and attention regarding environmental issues.
Additionally, this type of analysis can be used to motivate collective participation in environmental decisions and in the
protection of nature, and to manage strategies to curb the deterioration of the environment and the planet
